My journey in rural Assam began in 2004, grounded in grassroots initiatives focused on promoting self-help groups (SHGs), rural entrepreneurship, and access to microfinance for underserved communities. Over the years, this work evolved in both scope and depth, culminating in the founding of SANJOG in 2014. Today, SANJOG represents a collective commitment to fostering meaningful and lasting change for marginalized communities across Assam—particularly those often excluded from mainstream development—by promoting sustainable livelihoods, strengthening capacities of marginalized and enhancing community resilience.
